(GM), adsdsf, I Fired My Mentor Today

Hi adsdsf,

I fired my mentor today. He had to go.

It wasn't because we didn't get on, we do.

It wasn't because he wasn't a nice guy, he is.

It wasn't because he wasn't knowledgeable, he is.

Then why?

He wasn't pushing me hard enough!

Sometimes you need a bit of a kick up the backside,
you need pushing, you need reminding to do things.

I want a mentor who is really going to push me,
stretch me, demand I work hard - all for my benefit,
of course.

I was paying my mentor a lot of money for his
experience, his knowledge and for him to kick
my backside when I didn't deliver my promises.

I wanted him to shout at me, he didn't.

I wanted him to tell me off when I failed to deliver,
he didn't.

So he had to go and today was that day.

He's gone.

Sometimes you find the right mentor and sometimes
you don't. That why it is important you do not enter
any long term contract agreements. Ensure you can
get out of the contract easily.

No matter what you do, my advice is never sign up
for 12 months with a mentor. You might just not get
on.

I signed up with a mentor for 12 months once and
it was a big mistake. I shall never do that again.

So are you getting value from your mentor?

Make sure you are because if you are not, find
another one and ensure you do.

To you success,

Andrew

P.S. Get a mentor with no long-term commitments
